Pick a date above and your total appears in the summary. Checkout stays greyed out until a date is chosen.

Prices are per person in ringgit, read off the live booking page on 1 September 2026. A minimum of two adults applies. The booking page is the authority for your date.

Pickup outside the free radius, a group of one adult, a group bigger than one vehicle, or a date the calendar will not take: get in touch and we will sort it before you pay. No maximum party size is stated on any booking page, so larger groups need a word first.

Live prices, inclusions and the cancellation window are confirmed in the booking panel for the date you pick, so what you check out with is always what applies. Prefer to ask first? Send us an enquiry — we answer 9:00 AM – 11:00 PM MYT daily.

A heritage day that makes sense of what you are looking at

Malacca’s old town rewards a bit of explanation. A Famosa is the surviving gate of a Portuguese fortress the Dutch later took and rebuilt. The Stadthuys is a Dutch administrative building from the 1650s, not the church people assume it to be, and Christ Church next to it came a century later. Harmony Street runs a Chinese temple, a Hindu temple and a mosque within a few hundred metres of each other, which is a real thing about this city rather than a slogan.

You can walk all of it for nothing. That is worth knowing before you book anything. What this day adds, as with all our guided Malacca tours, is a licensed guide who can answer the question that follows the photograph, and transport from Kuala Lumpur so nobody spends four hours driving.

The red gable of Christ Church Melaka, lettered CHRIST CHURCH 1753 MELAKA

The circuit

  • A Famosa (Porta de Santiago): the Portuguese gate, and what happened to the rest of the fort
  • St Paul’s Hill: the ruined church, the tombstones, and the view over the strait
  • The Stadthuys and Dutch Square: the red buildings everyone photographs, and what they were for
  • Christ Church Melaka: the Anglican church next to the Stadthuys, still in use
  • Harmony Street (Jalan Tukang Emas): Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, Kampung Kling Mosque and their neighbours
  • Jonker Street: the daytime version, quieter than the weekend night market

Eating in Malacca

Peranakan or Baba Nyonya cooking is what happens when Chinese ingredients meet Malay and Indonesian spicing over several centuries in one port town: Hainanese chicken rice balls, Nyonya laksa, and dishes not cooked the same way in Kuala Lumpur. The booking page’s inclusion list covers transfers and the driver-guide and does not list a meal, so lunch is not part of what you pay us for. Your driver-guide takes you to the places worth eating at and you pay for what you order. Message us before booking if you would rather we arranged it.

Timing, and why we start early

Pickup is 08:30 from Kuala Lumpur and Malacca sits about 150 km away, roughly two hours by road, so you are in the old town through the middle of the morning rather than arriving into the worst of the afternoon heat. If you want Dutch Square before 10 AM you have to be staying in Malacca overnight, and our heritage quarter guide covers how to walk it that way.

We run this one on a private basis only. There was a shared seat-basis departure listed alongside it; its booking page does not load, so we have taken it off this site rather than send you to a checkout that never appears.

If you would rather see the city lit up than explained in daylight, read our day tour or night tour comparison before booking, and look at the heritage quarter guide for what the walking circuit covers in detail.

What this tour covers

  • UNESCO World Heritage old town explained by a licensed guide
  • A Famosa (Porta de Santiago), St Paul's Hill, the Stadthuys, Dutch Square and Harmony Street
  • Private vehicle and a professional English-speaking driver-guide for the full 10 hours
  • An early start from Kuala Lumpur, so Dutch Square and St Paul's Hill are done before the afternoon heat
  • Round-trip transport from Kuala Lumpur in an air-conditioned vehicle
  • Private departure (Exp 820482), 10 hours from an 08:30 pickup, minimum two adults

The booking page's own inclusion and exclusion lists are printed in full on each booking card above. They cover transport, the driver-guide and any tickets, and they do not itemise individual stops.

The specialist edge

Why book the day tour with us

  • The old town explained

A Famosa is one gate of a Portuguese fort the Dutch later rebuilt, and the Stadthuys is not actually a church. A licensed guide turns a photo walk into a day that makes sense.

  • An early start, not a coach schedule

Pickup is 08:30 from Kuala Lumpur, so Dutch Square and the climb up St Paul's Hill happen before the afternoon heat rather than whenever a bus fills up.

  • Peranakan food, pointed at properly

Chicken rice balls and Nyonya laksa are the reason Malacca tastes different from the rest of Malaysia. Lunch is not part of the booking, so your driver-guide takes you to the places worth eating at and you pay for what you order. Tell us before you book if you would rather we arranged it.

Good to know

Day tour questions

What does the historical day tour cover?
The UNESCO-listed core: A Famosa (Porta de Santiago), St Paul's Hill, the Stadthuys and Dutch Square, and the temples and mosques of Harmony Street. Ten hours from an 08:30 pickup in Kuala Lumpur.
Is lunch included on the day tour?
No. The booking page lists tours and transfers on a private basis and an English-speaking driver-guide, and no meal. Your driver-guide points you at the places worth eating at and you pay for what you order. Ask us if you would rather we arranged it.
How much walking is there?
A fair amount, including the steps up St Paul's Hill. Wear shoes you can climb in, bring water, and tell your guide if anyone in the group needs a slower pace.
Can we visit the Malacca River Cruise on the day tour?
The cruise runs from 9 AM, so a daytime sailing is possible, but the evening sailings are the ones people come for. If the cruise is your priority, book the night tour instead.
How much is the Malacca day tour, and what is the minimum party?
MYR 274.05 per adult and MYR 121.80 per child aged 3 to 11, on the private departure (Exp 820482). A minimum of two adults applies. The booking page is the authority for your date.
Is the Melaka Sultanate Palace Museum part of the tour?
It sits near St Paul's Hill and is worth a look if you have a spare 20 minutes, but it is not a fixed stop on the circuit. Tell your guide on the day and they will work it in if timing allows.
Private departure, minimum two adults. Friday to Sunday dates are not currently offered
