Putrajaya is a planned administrative capital finished in the late 1990s, built around a lake, with the rose-tinted Putra Mosque and the government precinct as its set pieces. Putting them in the same day is a deliberate contrast, and it photographs well in both directions. The Malacca half covers the UNESCO core: A Famosa, St Paul’s Hill and Dutch Square.
